While US and UK carriers launch aggressive trade-in offers for the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Indian telecom providers are largely absent from the promotion, leaving Apple’s own store as the main source of advertised savings for Indian customers.
Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available for pre-order in India, with deliveries set to begin on 18 September. But buyers hoping for carrier-led discounts may find little to tempt them. When the major telecom websites were checked on 13 September, Jio, Airtel and Vi were not showing any listed offers tied to either model, leaving Apple’s own store as the clearest route to savings.
That contrasts with the broader pattern in other markets, where carriers are moving quickly to use the new flagship devices to drive upgrades and new sign-ups. In the United States, TechRadar reported that Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are among the networks promoting large trade-in rebates and bundled incentives, with some offers reaching as much as $1,200 off when customers pair the phones with qualifying unlimited plans. MacRumors also reported that AT&T and T-Mobile are among the carriers pushing similar high-value promotions at launch.
In the US and UK, Apple itself is also competing aggressively, offering trade-in discounts and financing options alongside carrier deals. TechRadar said Apple’s direct preorder programme includes trade-in savings of up to $885, while UK operators such as Three and Vodafone are carrying the new phones as well. In Australia, Tom’s Guide reported that Optus, Vodafone and JB Hi-Fi have all published launch promotions, including trade-in value offers and gift card incentives, underscoring how heavily the handset market now depends on bundled financing rather than outright price cuts.
For Indian customers, Apple’s own offer remains the most visible incentive for now. The company is advertising up to Rs.7,000 in instant cashback for eligible American Express, Axis Bank and ICICI Bank cards, together with up to six months of no-cost EMI. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs.1,64,900, while the Pro Max begins at Rs.1,79,900. Against that backdrop, the absence of telecom-backed promotions suggests that, at least at launch, Apple is keeping the best savings close to home.
