Mivi, traditionally known for audio gear, launches the One 5G in India, targeting affordable 5G market with a focus on battery life and software updates, challenging existing low-cost competitors.
Mivi has moved into smartphones with the launch of the One 5G in India, a budget model that marks a clear shift for a company best known for audio gear. According to the launch details reported by Indian tech sites, the device is aimed at the lower-cost 5G market and starts at ₹12,999. It pairs a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with Android 16, a configuration that gives it a relatively modern software base for the price.
The hardware is built around a 6.745-inch HD+ IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate, which should make routine interactions such as scrolling and app switching feel smoother than on standard 60Hz panels. Mivi has fitted a 50-megapixel main rear camera with an 8-megapixel front camera, while the battery is one of the phone’s strongest selling points: a 6,000mAh cell with 18W charging. The company says a charger is included in the box, and the handset is 9.15mm thick despite the larger battery.
Mivi is also leaning heavily on software and support as differentiators. The phone ships with a clean Android 16 interface without pre-installed bloatware, and the company has promised two major operating system upgrades. It is also bundling its Care+ service at no extra cost, with doorstep pickup, repair and return, plus a seven-day replacement option if a repair misses the stated timeline. Mivi says it has 500 service centres in India through authorised service partners.
At launch, the One 5G is positioned against other affordable 5G handsets rather than premium rivals. The base model comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while higher trims offer 6GB and 8GB of RAM with the same storage capacity, priced at ₹14,999 and ₹16,499 respectively. All variants come in five colours: Blue, Burgundy, Green, Dark Blue and Pink. The phone goes on sale in India on 8 October 2026 through Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale, with an immediate ₹1,000 discount for eligible customers using Axis, HDFC, ICICI or SBI Bank cards. Compared with the Lava Virat V1 5G, which is quoted at ₹13,499 for 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, Mivi is clearly using memory and storage to sharpen its entry-level pitch.
