Motorola introduces the Moto Pad 70 in India, featuring a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip, and bundled Moto Pen, targeting work, study, and media consumption.
Motorola has added a new mid-range Android tablet to the Indian market with the Moto Pad 70, positioning it for everyday work, study and media use. The company is bundling its Moto Pen in the box and is pushing the device through Flipkart, Motorola’s website and offline retail from August 15, according to MyMobileIndia. Earlier teaser coverage from Gizmochina had suggested an earlier launch window around August 8, showing how quickly the rollout details shifted before the formal pricing was published.
The official starting price is ₹33,999 for the 128GB model, while the 256GB version is priced at ₹36,999. That is higher than some pre-launch retailer listings, including Smartprix, which had placed the tablet closer to ₹29,990 before launch. Motorola is offering the tablet in a single Pantone Sea Angel colourway.
The Moto Pad 70 centres on a 12.1-inch LCD panel with 2.5K resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate and peak brightness rated at 800 nits. Motorola says it supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut and includes four speakers with Dolby Atmos support. Notebookcheck and other pre-launch reports had hinted at a higher refresh-rate panel on a related model, but the Indian launch specifications confirm 90Hz for this version.
Inside, the tablet uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4X memory and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. A microSD slot allows expansion to 2TB. The software package is Android 16 at launch, with Motorola promising two major operating system upgrades and security support through 2030. The company also includes Smart Connect, a feature that lets users move files and mirror screens across Motorola phones, Windows PCs and the tablet.
Battery life is another key selling point. Motorola has fitted a 10,200mAh battery and ships a 68W charger in the box. The tablet measures 6.29mm thick, weighs 530g and carries an IP52 rating for light splash resistance. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.4. The bundled Moto Pen supports 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection and palm rejection, while an optional magnetic keyboard cover attaches through pogo pins for users who want a more laptop-like setup.
