Motorola unveils the Moto Pad 70 in India, a lightweight 5G tablet boasting a 12.1-inch 2.5K display, robust battery life, and software support extending to Android 18, targeting the entry-level market with premium features.
Motorola has added the Moto Pad 70 to its tablet line-up in India, positioning it as an entry-level device built around portability, work and media use. The company is promoting it as its thinnest and lightest 5G tablet, with the 5G model measuring 6.49mm thick and weighing 530g. An IP52 rating gives it limited protection against dust and light splashes, and the only finish available is Pantone Sea Angel.
The tablet centres on a 12.1-inch LCD panel with 2.5K resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of peak brightness and DCI-P3 colour coverage. Under the hood is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400, built on a 6nm process and clocked at 2.5GHz, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X memory. Buyers can choose 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and the microSD slot supports expansion of up to 2TB. Some retail listings have described the device as a Wi-Fi model with a 120Hz screen, but Motorola’s launch material and product listings for the Indian market have focused on the 5G version and a 90Hz panel.
Battery life is another selling point. Motorola has fitted a 10,200mAh battery and includes a 68W USB-C charger in the box. The tablet also carries a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera and four speakers with Dolby Atmos support. A Moto Pen stylus comes bundled, offering 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection and palm rejection, while an optional magnetic keyboard cover connects through pogo pins for users who want a more laptop-like setup. The device also supports Smart Connect, Motorola’s feature for sharing files and mirroring screens with Windows PCs and Motorola smartphones.
Software support is relatively strong for this class. The Moto Pad 70 runs Android 16 out of the box, and Motorola says it will receive two major operating system upgrades, taking it to Android 18, plus security updates through 2030. In India, pricing starts at ₹33,999 for the 128GB model and ₹36,999 for the 256GB version, according to Motorola’s launch details. Rival spec trackers have placed a lower expected Wi-Fi price near ₹29,990, suggesting there may be separate configurations or market-specific positioning as the range develops.
