MSI’s compact Claw 7 AI+ has appeared in German retail listings at just under €699, pairing Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V with 32GB of fast memory and a 120Hz display.
MSI’s Claw handheld range is back in the spotlight as German retailers Office-Partner.de and Playox.de list the Claw 7 AI+ A2VM-028 for just under €699. The model is the Intel-powered counterpart to MSI’s larger 8-inch version, and its arrival in retail comes after the Claw 8 AI+ earned a “Good” rating of 85 per cent in Notebookcheck’s testing.
At the heart of the device is Intel’s Core Ultra 7 258V, a Lunar Lake chip designed around efficiency as much as raw speed. It combines eight CPU cores with Intel Arc Graphics 140V and a neural processing unit rated at 47 TOPS, giving the handheld the hardware needed for mainstream gaming as well as AI-accelerated tasks. Tom’s Hardware and GameSpot both reported on MSI’s launch of the Claw 7 AI+, noting that MSI positions it as a premium Windows handheld with the same processor platform used in the larger Claw 8 AI+.
Memory and storage are fixed to the compact form factor. MSI equips the Claw 7 AI+ with 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 RAM in dual-channel mode, but there are no upgrade slots for memory. The single SSD bay accepts only 2230-format drives and ships with a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 M.2 module, which can be replaced if more capacity is needed. Several product listings and launch reports also indicate that MSI offers configurations with up to 1 TB of storage.
The display is a 7-inch 16:9 IPS panel with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and variable refresh support. MSI says the panel reaches 500 nits and offers solid colour coverage. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, a microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 6E and two Thunderbolt 4 ports that support power delivery and DisplayPort alt mode. The handheld ships with Windows 11 Home, while launch coverage from Tom’s Hardware and GameSpot says the wider Claw AI+ family also supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and Copilot+ PC features on MSI’s higher-spec configurations.
