Oppo expands its A-series in Malaysia with the launch of the new A7 Pro 5G and A7 Pro Max 5G, highlighting advanced cameras, massive batteries, and fast charging in a competitive mid-range segment.
Oppo has expanded its A-series line-up in Malaysia with two new mid-range phones, the A7 Pro 5G and A7 Pro Max 5G. The launch extends a strategy centred on large batteries, fast charging and high-resolution cameras, while adding a new Pro Max tier above last year’s A6 Pro 5G.
The A7 Pro Max 5G is the larger and better-equipped model. Oppo says it uses a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1272 x 2772 resolution and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip, with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also includes Oppo’s NetworkBoost S1 signal-enhancement chip and is rated IP69K for dust and water resistance.
Photography is a key selling point. According to Oppo’s specifications, the A7 Pro Max 5G has a 50MP front camera with a 100-degree field of view and automatic wide-angle switching, while the rear system combines a 50MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor. The phone is also fitted with a 10,000mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging. Oppo says a full charge takes 91 minutes, while a five-minute top-up can deliver up to 11% power. It runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16 and carries Oppo’s six-year fluency protection promise.
The standard A7 Pro 5G follows the same basic formula in a smaller package. Oppo lists a 6.57-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It shares the same front and rear camera arrangement as the Pro Max model, but uses an 8,000mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC charging. Oppo says it needs 101 minutes for a full charge and also supports reverse wired charging.
For Malaysia, Oppo has attached launch promotions ahead of official pricing, which will be announced on 19 September. From 11 to 18 September, buyers can place a RM50 deposit on the Oppo Online Store to receive bundle vouchers, with different audio accessories tied to each model. Oppo is also offering launch rebates of RM200 on the A7 Pro Max 5G and RM100 on the A7 Pro 5G, plus purchase-with-purchase deals on its portable wireless speaker and Enco Buds3 earphones.
