Oura Ring 5 arrives in India with slimmer design and expanded health monitoring

Oura’s latest smart ring goes on sale in India from Rs. 39,900, adding a smaller design, upgraded sensors and new tools including Blood Pressure Signals and GLP-1 Insights.

Oura has launched the Ring 5 in India, bringing its latest smart ring to a market that has become increasingly competitive for premium health wearables. According to Gadgets 360, the device went on sale on Thursday and is positioned as the successor to the Oura Ring 4, with the company emphasising a smaller form factor, revised sensing hardware and expanded wellness tools.

The new ring starts at Rs. 39,900 for the Silver and Black versions, while Gold, Deep Rose, Stealth and Brushed Silver cost Rs. 50,900. Buyers can pre-order the ring through Amazon and Croma outlets across India, and Oura is also offering its membership plan at Rs. 599 a month for access to additional features and insights. The ring is sold in sizes 6 to 13 and comes with a charger matched to the selected size, a practical detail that should help avoid compatibility issues.

Wareable reports that the Ring 5 is 40% smaller than the previous model, measuring 6.09mm wide and 2.28mm thick, with a titanium body and a tougher physical vapour deposition coating designed to improve scratch resistance. It carries an IP68 rating and is water-resistant to 100 metres, while Oura says the updated sensor layout, low-profile domes and enhanced signal pathways are intended to improve measurement accuracy across different finger shapes and skin tones.

Oura is also using the launch to broaden the ring’s health software. The company says the new Health Radar platform builds on its existing Symptom Radar feature and adds tools such as Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing monitoring. It also supports Live Activity Tracking, so workouts can be followed in real time through the app, and GLP-1 Insights for people taking GLP-1 medicines. Additional features include Oura Health Records, which combines clinical data with sensor readings, an AI support service developed with Counsel Health, a more advanced Advisor AI system, a Locate function for finding misplaced rings and charging cases, and a Data Deletion tool that can remove selected periods of health information. Oura says battery life can reach up to nine days, although that will vary by ring size and usage.
