Realme is poised to unveil its 16x 5G smartphone in India on August 12, featuring a large 7,000mAh battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and multiple storage options, with prices expected to be significantly lower than leaked MRP figures.
Realme is preparing to unveil the 16x 5G in India on August 12, with the handset set to sell through Flipkart. Ahead of the launch, a leaked retail box image has added weight to earlier reports about the phone’s positioning: a mid-range device with a large battery, fast display and a price that should sit well below the eye-catching maximum retail price printed on the box. Industry watchers say that inflated MRP figures on packaging are common and do not necessarily reflect the real street price.
The leak points to a 6GB plus 128GB version carrying an MRP of ₹54,999, but the actual launch price is widely expected to come in at under ₹30,000, and possibly lower. The same image also suggests the retail package will include the handset, charger, USB cable, SIM ejector tool, quick-start guide and a protective case. Other pre-launch reports have indicated that Realme may offer multiple storage options, including 4GB plus 128GB and 6GB plus 256GB variants.
Realme has already confirmed several core specifications through its India campaign page. The 16x 5G is set to carry a 6.8-inch HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits, along with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, up to 14GB of Dynamic RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The company also says the phone includes a 5,300 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system, two years of Android version upgrades and three years of security updates.
The camera setup is expected to centre on a 50-megapixel dual rear array with an LED flash and a multicolour ring light, while the front camera sits inside a punch-hole cut-out. Realme says the phone will also support AI features such as AI Ultra Clarity and AI Eraser. Power is another major selling point: the 7,000mAh battery is paired with 45W wired charging, and Realme claims it can deliver long endurance for music, video, gaming and navigation. The handset will also carry an IP65 rating and MIL-STD-810H durability certification, and it will come in Blooming Brown and Blooming Silver.
