vivo takes X Fold6 global with 6,900mAh battery and work-focused software

vivo is bringing its premium X Fold6 foldable to global markets, including India, with dual 120Hz displays, a 6,900mAh battery, IP-rated durability and productivity tools.

vivo has taken the X Fold6 beyond China, moving its latest foldable into global markets with India among the first confirmed destinations. The launch positions the device as a premium productivity handset, with a large inner screen, a separate cover display and a hardware package aimed at both multitasking and media use.

The phone is built around an 8.02-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. A 6.51-inch AMOLED cover screen sits on the outside for more conventional phone use. vivo is offering the handset in teal and black, while the internal specification sheet centres on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 Super Edition processor, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Battery life is another major selling point. The X Fold6 uses a 6,900mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging as well as 40W wireless charging, which should help offset the power demands of the large dual-display design. vivo also claims durability improvements, with IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, a notable addition for a foldable device.

Photography remains a headline feature. According to vivo’s launch information, the rear camera system combines a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. Two 20-megapixel front cameras are fitted for the inner and outer displays, while video recording goes up to 4K at 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision support.

On software, the X Fold6 runs OriginOS 7 Fold based on Android 17 and includes tools designed for split-screen work and meeting support. vivo lists features such as Multi-Task Workbench, Multi-Split Screen, Meeting Assistant, File Manager and its Jovi AI agent, indicating that the phone is being pitched as much for work as for entertainment. In India, the foldable will go on sale from 13 October at INR 219,999 for the 12GB plus 512GB model, with availability through both online and physical retail channels.
