Xiaomi’s REDMI Note 17 Pro Max brings a 9,210mAh battery and six-year support to Guatemala

Xiaomi has launched its four-model REDMI Note 17 series in Guatemala, led by a reinforced Pro Max handset with 100W charging, extended software support and a battery designed to last up to six years.

Xiaomi has launched its REDMI Note 17 series in Guatemala, unveiling a four-device line-up built around bigger batteries, faster charging and a more reinforced chassis under the slogan “Designed to Last”. The release also marks a global milestone for the brand, with Xiaomi saying the REDMI Note family has now passed 500 million units distributed worldwide.

The range comprises the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G and REDMI Note 17. Xiaomi is pairing the launch with a long-term support promise: up to six years of security updates across the series, together with six years of smooth-performance support on the flagship model. That kind of policy is increasingly important in the mid-range market, where buyers now expect durability and software longevity rather than only low pricing.

The top two models are the first REDMI Note phones to receive TÜV SÜD’s five-star Titan Quality certification, which assesses resistance to drops and mechanical impact, water immersion and sustained battery performance. Xiaomi says they also carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K protection ratings, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Wet Touch Technology 2.0. Battery endurance is a central part of the pitch: Xiaomi says the silicon-carbon battery system is designed to retain at least 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charge cycles, which the company equates to roughly six years of moderate use.

On hardware, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G uses a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and a 9,210 mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging. The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G carries an 8,340 mAh battery with 67W charging, while the REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 5G both use 7,700 mAh batteries with 45W fast charging. The Pro models feature 6.83-inch 1.5K displays with peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits and an instant touch sampling rate of 3,200Hz, while the standard models use 6.99-inch panels. Xiaomi is also adding artificial intelligence tools through HyperAI, including Google Gemini, Circle to Search, AI Erase Pro and a reflection-removal feature.

The phones are already on sale in Guatemala through Xiaomi Stores, mobile operators Claro and Tigo, and authorised retailers. The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G is priced from Q4,299 for the 256GB version and Q5,299 for 512GB under a launch promotion running until 31 October, below their regular prices of Q4,599 and Q5,699. The REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G starts at Q3,599, while the standard REDMI Note 17 is available from Q2,499. Xiaomi says buyers of the Pro models purchased between 1 October and 30 November 2026 can also receive a 24-month quality warranty, a free battery replacement within the first 36 months if health falls below 80%, and a screen replacement for accidental damage during the first 24 months.
