Pixel 11 Pro keeps Google’s camera crown but struggles to justify its upgrade

Google’s compact flagship delivers superb cameras, a bright display and polished software, but modest performance gains, inconsistent battery life and a higher price blunt its appeal.

24.hu has spent the year testing a broad spread of phones, from mid-range handsets to outright flagships, and its latest round adds six more devices to that list. The line-up includes the Google Pixel 11 Pro, which arrived in August and now serves as one of the clearest examples of how far Google’s compact premium phone has come, and where it still falls short.

The strongest case for the Pixel 11 Pro is its camera system. Across several reviews, the phone is described as producing highly detailed, natural-looking images, with improved texture rendering, better portrait separation and new AI-assisted tools that make stills and video easier to combine. Reviewers also consistently praise the 6.3-inch OLED panel, which is both sharp and very bright, and note that the handset feels exceptionally well built in the hand.

That said, the Pixel 11 Pro is not being treated as an unqualified leap forward. TechRadar and Tech Advisor both point to concerns over price, while also noting that Google has trimmed memory compared with some earlier models. Battery life is reported as improved in some testing, but Tech Advisor still found it inconsistent in day-to-day use. Performance is another mixed area: routine tasks remain smooth, yet gaming and more demanding workloads do not always match the best rivals in the class.

There is also a broader sense, reflected in several reviews, that Google has refined rather than rethought the Pixel formula. Forbes says the new Tensor G6 brings only modest gains in everyday use, and Tom’s Guide argues that the phone feels too close to its predecessors. Even so, for buyers who value a compact Android flagship with class-leading photography, a bright display and strong software features, the Pixel 11 Pro remains one of the most compelling options in its segment.
