Despite the launch of the newer GT 6 Pro, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro remains a compelling choice thanks to its premium design, extensive health tracking, and significant discount, offering premium features at a lower price point.
Huawei’s Watch GT 5 Pro remains a credible choice despite the arrival of the GT 6 Pro, particularly now that the older model is being sold at a steep discount. Frandroid says the 46 mm black version has dropped to €170.99 from €379.99 on Huawei’s own site, using a promo code, making it far cheaper than the newer watch while still retaining a strong feature set.
The GT 5 Pro is positioned as a premium-looking smartwatch rather than a full app platform. Wareable praised its titanium bezel and sapphire crystal, while TechRadar and Computer Bild highlighted the refined finish and robust materials. It is also rated for 5 ATM and IP69 protection, which makes it suitable for swimming, though not for diving.
The watch’s strengths lie in health and fitness tracking. According to the reviews, it includes heart-rate monitoring, SpO2, ECG, temperature sensing, sleep analysis and stress tracking, with dedicated sport modes such as golf and diving. Tech Advisor said its GPS is highly accurate, although Frandroid noted that its distance estimates could be slightly short in testing. Huawei’s software remains compatible with iPhone and Android, but third-party app support is limited and some features, such as payments, depend on region.
Battery life is another major selling point. Frandroid reported six days and five hours in testing under demanding settings, which aligns with other reviews describing long endurance as one of the model’s key advantages. That makes the GT 5 Pro easier to live with than many Wear OS and Apple rivals, especially for users who want health tools, premium materials and strong battery life without paying for the latest generation.
