Amazon has cut $40 from the 44mm Bluetooth Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 in Graphite, taking the price to below $290. The offer lowers the entry point for Samsung’s latest mainstream smartwatch and makes it a more accessible option for Android users who want a premium wearable without moving up to the more expensive Classic model.
Samsung positions the Galaxy Watch 8 as a full-featured health and fitness device, with heart rate, sleep and stress tracking, plus dual-band GPS, sleep apnoea detection, an Energy Score and body composition analysis. It runs Wear OS, so users can install third-party apps from the Google Play Store, and it also supports Google Gemini integration for on-wrist AI assistance, according to Samsung.
Battery life remains the main compromise. Samsung says the Watch 8 should last about 40 hours on a charge, though that figure falls with the always-on display enabled and shorter runtimes are expected under heavier use. PhoneArena said the watch is good for roughly a day to a day and a half, which means most owners will still need to charge it overnight or every other night.
Android Central, which reviewed the 2025 model, described the Watch 8 as one of the strongest Android smartwatches available, citing its slim design, 3,000-nit display, Exynos W1000 chip, 2GB of RAM and promised software support through 2029. The trade-off, as with Samsung’s own claims on battery endurance, is that the device is built for features and performance rather than multi-day operation.
