Anker unveils MindBase, a local AI hub integrating cameras, sensors, and automation, targeting both residential and commercial markets with a focus on on-device processing and Matter compatibility.
Anker is broadening its smart-home line-up with MindBase, a local AI hub that the company says is designed to bring cameras, sensors and automation under one private system. The platform, which Anker had first shown around IFA, is being positioned as the centre of a connected home that relies on on-device processing rather than cloud services, and it is also intended for small businesses and other commercial sites. According to ComputerBase and the other product reports, Anker has not yet disclosed pricing or a release date for the hub itself.
MindBase combines a 64GB internal eMMC store with two 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive bays, allowing local storage to be expanded to 48TB. The hub supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee, and adds two Gigabit Ethernet ports plus three USB connections. It is also designed to work with Anker hardware and Matter-compatible devices from other brands, which should make it more flexible than a closed proprietary system. Several reports also say Anker is pairing the hub with an on-device AI agent that can classify events locally and organise household activity without a recurring subscription.
For home security, Anker is preparing a MindBase Security Kit built around the hub, the new TrackLight Cam S1, the Video Doorbell S4 and the Smart Security Shield sensor. The TrackLight Cam S1 uses a 4K telephoto camera with automatic subject tracking, 10x zoom, a motorised pan-tilt mechanism and 180-degree radar detection. Anker says it can light an area up to 20 metres away. The Smart Security Shield is meant to act as both a warning sign and a perimeter sensor, using dual radar to detect people at ranges of up to 30 metres, while other coverage has put the figure at 15 metres.
The Video Doorbell S4 combines a 3K camera with a 180-degree horizontal and vertical field of view, and adds AI tracking, automatic zoom, dual PIR sensing, radar and local image analysis. It supports two-way audio through the app and can run on battery power, wired power or an optional solar panel. Anker is also adding the Window Camera E10, which attaches to the inside of a window and is designed for indoor-outward monitoring, with 2.5K video, night vision, a 25-degree tilt and local detection of people and sounds. A separate fall-detection sensor uses mmWave radar to identify falls indoors and in gardens without requiring a wearable or camera.
Beyond the home, Anker is targeting shops, offices and other business properties with a Professional Local AI Video Alarm System. That package centres on the HomeBase Professional S1 and AI Core, stores footage locally on expandable storage of up to 16TB, and includes 4G connectivity and battery backup so it can keep working during power or internet outages. Anker is also preparing the NVR Security System E50, which pairs an eight-channel recorder with four dual-lens cameras, continuous recording, camera-to-camera tracking and AI video search. ComputerBase says the E50 will be sold from 999 euros, while the HomeBase Professional S1 carries a recommended price of 599.99 euros.
