Apple partners with ADT to install wall-mounted HomeView hubs in US homes

Apple is adding a professional installation option for its $299 wall-mounted HomeView hub, with ADT technicians due to begin fitting devices across most of the US this autumn.

Apple has chosen ADT to provide professional installation for its new wall-mounted HomeView smart home hub in the US, adding a managed fitting option to a product that is otherwise designed for straightforward DIY use. According to Apple and ADT, technicians will install the hub and selected accessories in most areas of the country when the service launches this autumn.

The move confirms earlier industry reporting that Apple was preparing a tie-up with ADT, and it arrives as Apple broadens its smart home push beyond its own hardware. Apple’s HomeView was announced alongside a wider set of third-party products built under the Apple Home Collection name, with LG and Schneider Home among the first partners. Those accessories rely on a home hub to operate, which makes HomeView relevant not only as a display but as part of the wider control layer for lights, locks, thermostats and cameras.

HomeView itself comes in tabletop and wall-mounted forms and uses a 7-inch display. The wall-mounted model is offered in Space Grey and Silver, and Apple says three Schneider Home mounts are available for attaching it to a wall. Buyers can fit those brackets themselves or pay extra for ADT to do the work. The tabletop version does not require installation, so the ADT service is mainly aimed at wall-mounted units and other hardwired devices, including wired video doorbells and smart deadbolts that need drilling or electrical work.

Apple has priced both HomeView versions at $299 in the US, with no confirmed UK installation plans yet. Apple’s website says the service covers “most areas” of the US, while ADT’s own installation information suggests availability may vary by location. The arrangement also fits ADT’s existing approach to partnered smart home installation, after earlier work with Google Nest products and its broader push into self-setup and hybrid security systems.
