LinknLink introduces the HomeClaw Max, a compact and user-friendly smart home hub that combines AI assistance with local control, aiming to make home automation accessible for both enthusiasts and newcomers.
LinknLink is positioning the HomeClaw Max as a compact smart home hub for users who want automation without a complex build-out. The mini-PC combines Home Assistant with the company’s OpenClaw assistant and, according to LinknLink’s product information, is intended to provide a single box for setup, control and routine creation.
The company says the system can also work with Hermes Agent, allowing plain-language commands to be turned into practical home automation tasks. That makes it more than a standard controller: the aim is to reduce the technical friction that often comes with setting up self-hosted smart home software while preserving the flexibility that experienced users expect.
On paper, the hardware is modest but purposeful. LinknLink lists a four-core processor running at 1.8 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and power consumption of between 3 and 5 watts, which would suit a device expected to run continuously. The gateway also supports WiFi, Matter, BLE, Zigbee 3.0 and Z-Wave, and the company says it operates on a Linux-based system with local control rather than dependence on cloud services.
Notebookcheck reported that the HomeClaw Max is designed to make home automation more accessible to both enthusiasts and newcomers, while LifeNovation said LinknLink presented the device at IFA Berlin 2026 as an attempt to unify fragmented smart home systems. In practical terms, that places the product in a growing category of AI-assisted hubs that try to bridge DIY control and guided setup, a combination that is becoming more common as smart home platforms compete on simplicity as much as capability.
