ULTRALOQ launches first UWB-enabled smart lock collection with seamless digital access

ULTRALOQ has introduced a new range of smart locks featuring ultra-wideband and digital wallet access, disrupting traditional keyless entry with hands-free, proximity-based solutions for modern homes.

ULTRALOQ has expanded its smart lock line with three new models that push keyless entry further towards hands-free and wallet-based access, reflecting a wider shift in the connected-home market away from app-only unlocking and traditional keys. The range, developed by U-tec’s ULTRALOQ brand, comprises the Bolt Mission, Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro, each aimed at a different type of door and user. According to the company, the collection is built around ultra-wideband, or UWB, for proximity-based entry and Aliro, an open mobile-access standard backed by Apple, Google and Samsung.

The most technically ambitious model is the Bolt Mission, which ULTRALOQ says is the first UWB-enabled smart lock. The company claims it can distinguish between an authorised user approaching from outside and someone already moving around inside the home by combining Bluetooth Low Energy, UWB ranging, radar-based presence sensing and local decision-making. In practice, that should allow the door to unlock as the user approaches with a phone in a pocket, without a tap or app interaction. ULTRALOQ says the logic runs locally between the phone and the lock, which helps keep response times quick and removes the need for a separate hub.

The Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro take a different approach, using Aliro-certified digital wallet access for tap-to-unlock entry with a compatible phone or smartwatch. That mirrors the way many consumers already use contactless payments and digital car keys, and it removes the friction of opening an app before entering the home. The Bolt Pro also adds fingerprint recognition, PIN entry, app control and a physical key override, while the Latch 5 Pro brings the same wallet-based approach to lever-style doors, which makes it better suited to side entrances, garages, home offices, rentals and shared spaces.

All three models are Matter Certified and work with Apple Home and Google Home, while the Bolt Pro and Latch 5 Pro also integrate with Samsung SmartThings. ULTRALOQ says that lets owners tie door access to other home automation routines, such as switching on lights or adjusting the thermostat when the door unlocks. The company also points to setup guidance for Apple Home that requires a compatible Thread Border Router, underlining that installation still depends on the wider home network as much as on the lock itself.

Raj Sundar, senior director of product management at ULTRALOQ, said the front door is moving away from keys and apps towards digital credentials and intent-aware access, and that the aim of the new collection is to make that change practical for ordinary households. Pricing starts at $249.99 for the Latch 5 Pro, rises to $269.99 for the Bolt Pro and reaches $299.99 for the Bolt Mission. ULTRALOQ says all three are available now through its website and Amazon, with Home Depot online availability due in October.
