Google has turned Gemini 3.5 into a wider platform push rather than a routine model update. Announced at Google I/O 2026, the release brings together Gemini 3.5 Flash, Gemini Omni, Spark, Daily Brief and a new Neural Expressive design direction, while also extending the company’s agent framework for developers and enterprise users. The emphasis is less on a single chatbot and more on how Gemini fits into Google’s products, from the consumer app to Workspace and API tooling.
The centrepiece is Gemini 3.5 Flash, which Google presents as its flagship model for fast, capable interactions.
