iFLYTEK unveils a comprehensive software refresh for the AINOTE 2, introducing improved note management, AI-powered transcription, and custom workflows to boost its appeal for work and study users.
iFLYTEK is preparing a wider software refresh for the AINOTE 2, adding tools that sharpen its appeal as a slim, AI-driven paper tablet for work and study. The update roadmap centres on better note-taking, more flexible reading controls, expanded transcription features and deeper links to external AI services, including the option to use personal API keys for custom workflows. The company says the changes are aimed at users who rely on the device for meetings, lectures and document handling.
Among the biggest changes are upgrades to the core writing experience. iFLYTEK plans smoother pen-thickness controls across notes, PDFs, e-books and Office files, along with a movable floating toolbar and the option to shift the tab bar between the top and bottom of the screen. Users will also be able to import unencrypted PDFs directly into notes, then annotate them with the device’s native handwriting tools. Page handling is being expanded too, with multi-select functions for cutting, copying, pasting, hiding and deleting pages, plus bookmark sorting by headings, tasks and stars.
The audio and AI side of the tablet is also getting more capable. According to iFLYTEK’s product page, the AINOTE 2 already supports real-time transcription, AI-generated meeting summaries and handwriting-to-text conversion in 133 languages, while the device is marketed as powered by GPT-5. The new roadmap adds background recording when the folio cover is closed, audio-only deletion to save storage and more templates for meetings, lectures, videos and personal memos. Offline export is being widened as well, with TXT joining MP3 as an export option.
On the device itself, the AINOTE 2 remains a 10.65-inch E Ink tablet measuring 4.2mm thick and weighing 295g, according to iFLYTEK’s store listing. The hardware page also says it has a 300 ppi flexible display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, an octa-core processor and a 4,000mAh battery. Beyond note-taking, the update roadmap points to calendar recurrence controls, smarter lockscreen widgets, new reading modes, screenshot annotation tools, custom button actions, a Japanese user guide and improved support for third-party apps. iFLYTEK is also inviting beta testers to try the firmware early and send feedback directly to its research and development team.
