Lenovo enhances cyber resilience with integrated security and device tracking solutions

Lenovo introduces a comprehensive cyber resiliency framework, combining AI-driven threat detection, automated controls, and device location tools to combat rising cyber risks and streamline security operations for enterprises.

Lenovo has broadened its Security Services portfolio with a new cyber resiliency framework that is meant to give enterprises a single point of accountability when incidents occur. The company says the approach is built to reduce system downtime by as much as 50% and cut remediation costs by up to 40%, as organisations face a growing problem of AI-driven threats and fragmented security responsibility rather than a shortage of tools.

That claim is backed by research Lenovo cited saying 90% of IT leaders see gaps in their ability to defend against AI-enabled attacks. In response, Lenovo is positioning its security offer as an end-to-end stack that spans assessment, consulting, access and trust management, digital data protection, managed extended detection and response, visibility and risk management, and security for AI. The company says the goal is to simplify security operations and make protection easier to scale as environments change.

Among the new services is Security Services with Absolute, a managed resilience offer intended to keep security controls in place across distributed workforces without adding pressure to internal IT teams. Lenovo says the service can automatically restore controls if they are disrupted and is supported by its global Security Operations Centre, which runs continuously to watch for activity and help with response. Lenovo also says its cyber resiliency service combines device telemetry with Microsoft security products, including Copilot for Security and Defender for Endpoint, to support detection, response and recovery across devices and digital estates.

The company has also launched ThinkShield TraceLock, a tool aimed at devices that are lost, stolen or disconnected and therefore beyond the reach of conventional endpoint tools. Lenovo says the system uses built-in cellular connectivity so IT teams can locate, wake or wipe a machine even when it is powered off or offline. It is being pitched for regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services, government and the public sector, where device control and data protection are closely tied to compliance, and it will be available from July 1 on selected ThinkPad models.
