OnlyOffice Desktop Editors 10.0.0 brings a compact new start page, opt-in AI features and broader file and cloud support to Linux, Windows and macOS.
OnlyOffice Desktop Editors 10.0.0 has arrived as a major rebuild of the cross-platform office suite for Linux, Windows and macOS, with the most visible change being a redesigned home screen. The new interface replaces the wider left-hand navigation with a slimmer vertical icon bar, giving the start page a more compact layout and a cleaner first impression.
The release places artificial intelligence at the centre of its new workflow tools, but OnlyOffice has kept those features optional. The previous AI Agent has been replaced by AI Tools and AI Chat, which can be enabled only if the user chooses to install them. According to the release notes, clicking “Accept & Install” fetches the required AI models and supports services including ChatGPT, Claude, Mistral, Google Gemini, Groq, xAI and DeepSeek, although users still need their own API keys to make those services work.
OnlyOffice says the AI layer is designed to operate from the home page as well as inside individual editors. That means users can ask questions about PDFs, documents, spreadsheets and presentations without opening files one by one, and can use the tools for tasks such as summarising, translating, proofreading, comparing, redacting and converting documents. The suite also adds a set of preset actions for PDF handling, form creation and file conversion, which is intended to speed up routine office work.
For users who do not want AI in the suite, the company provides a switch in Settings to disable the features altogether, along with an option to remove the AI tools later. The broader release also brings visual refinements for Linux users, including window shadows and rounded borders that fit GNOME more closely.
Beyond the interface and AI changes, version 10.0.0 adds support for Odoo as a cloud provider, removes local document templates, enables spreadsheet export to XLS, introduces a Reading View mode in Presentation Editor, adds an annotation settings panel to PDF Editor, and expands support for OFD files. OnlyOffice says the release also includes further fixes and improvements, with full details available in the official notes. The installer is available for Linux, Windows and macOS, while Ubuntu users can install the .deb package, use the snap build, or choose the AppImage or Flatpak versions on other Linux distributions.
