Amazon slashes price of Elecom’s GaN II charger in limited-time deal

Amazon has reduced the price of Elecom’s compact GaN II charger by 10%, offering versatile fast-charging support for smartphones, MacBook Air, and iPad, in a limited-time promotion until August 2026.

Amazon is offering a 10% discount on Elecom’s EC-AC10740BK charger, cutting the price to ¥1,790 from ¥1,990. The promotion is listed as running until August 20, 2026 at 23:59, according to the product page and the Amazon listing.

The charger combines a USB Type-C port with a USB-A port and supports USB Power Delivery up to 40W. Elecom says it can charge two smartphones at the same time and can also be used with devices such as the MacBook Air and iPad, although the maximum combined output drops to 37W when both ports are in use.

The model uses GaN II, or gallium nitride, which helps keep the unit compact despite its higher power rating. It also has a foldable plug for easier packing, making it more suitable for commuting, business travel and short trips. One limitation is that no charging cable is included, so buyers will need to provide their own.

According to Elecom’s official product page, the charger normally retails for ¥3,828 including tax, which makes the Amazon deal a significant markdown. The company also lists PPS support, a feature that allows some compatible devices, including certain Windows laptops, to draw power more efficiently by adjusting voltage in small increments.
