Atomos’ StudioSonic over-ear headphones, designed for professional monitoring, are now available at a heavily discounted price of $79, making high-quality studio monitoring more accessible for creators and engineers on a budget.
Atomos’ StudioSonic over-ear headphones are being sold for $79, a $120 cut from the listed price, according to Newsshooter. The wired model is aimed at video and audio production, with 50mm drivers and a claimed 10Hz to 40kHz frequency response designed to deliver full-range monitoring without added coloration.
The company says the closed-back design is meant to provide passive noise isolation, while 180-degree swivelling earcups make it easier to position the headphones or monitor with one ear. Atomos first introduced StudioSonic in April 2025 as a professional listening tool for creators, engineers, studio workers and DJs.
The package includes a detachable coiled cable and a 1/4-inch adapter, reflecting its use in studio environments rather than casual listening. Retail listings and Atomos’ own product pages also describe the headphones as built for neutral sound reproduction during mixing, on-set monitoring and other production tasks.
The discount puts the StudioSonic in a more competitive bracket for budget-conscious creators looking for wired monitoring cans. Atomos has also expanded the StudioSonic line with a wireless AIR model, but the sale applies to the original wired version.
