Clicks has started shipping its Power Keyboard, a MagSafe-compatible accessory that provides tactile typing and wireless charging, signalling a move towards its own dedicated smartphone with a physical keyboard, aimed at users seeking a BlackBerry-style experience.

TechCrunch said that, after earlier delays, the company began sending out units this summer and that roughly three-quarters of the first batch of pre-orders had gone out by last week. The move extends Clicks’ attempt to revive BlackBerry-style typing for users who prefer tactile keys to on-screen keyboards.

The accessory is designed to attach to phones with MagSafe or Qi2 support and can be used in portrait or landscape orientation. According to Clicks’ product page and reporting by Notebookcheck, it connects over Bluetooth, slides open to reveal the keyboard and can also deliver wireless charging through its built-in 2,150mAh battery. That makes it more than a typing add-on, but it also means the device is bulkier than a simple keyboard case.

In practice, that extra hardware comes with trade-offs. TechCrunch found the Power Keyboard could make larger phones feel top-heavy, particularly in portrait mode, even though the accessory was described as carefully made and premium in fit and finish. The review also noted that it is easier to use with smaller handsets or in landscape mode, where the weight distribution is less awkward.

Clicks has tried to offset those compromises with flexibility. The company says the keyboard can be paired with a wide range of devices, including recent iPhones, Pixel and Galaxy phones, and it can also work with tablets, smart TVs and AR or VR headsets. Notebookcheck said it can be paired with up to three devices, while Clicks’ own materials highlight support for shortcut keys, cursor controls, backlighting and customisable key functions.

The Power Keyboard is also a preview of Clicks’ wider strategy. The company has said it will later release the Clicks Communicator, its own smartphone built around a physical keyboard. TechCrunch said prototypes shown at CES in January were easier to handle than the universal accessory, which is unsurprising given that a phone designed in-house can be balanced around the keyboard from the start rather than adapted to different handset sizes and weights.

For now, the accessory looks most appealing to users who miss the feel and speed of hardware keys enough to accept the added bulk. Earlier coverage from TechRadar placed the launch price at $79 and expected shipments in spring 2026, but TechCrunch’s latest report says the shipping product is now $99 and already reaching customers. That gap reflects how the launch has evolved, and it leaves the Power Keyboard positioned less as a novelty than as a transitional product on the way to Clicks’ own phone.
