Dark Energy’s Poseidon Nano is a compact battery pack aimed at users who want a small emergency charger rather than a high-capacity power bank. In a review published by AllOutdoor, Patrik Orcutt said the unit had spent months in regular use in a backpack, on hikes and during travel, and that its appeal came from a mix of pocketable size, rugged construction and MagSafe-style wireless charging.
The company describes the Poseidon Nano as a 3,000mAh power bank with a MagSafe-compatible wireless output of up to 5W and a USB-C output of up to 12W. Dark Energy says it is IP67-rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD-810G impact standards and is built to work in temperatures from -20°F to 120°F. It is also advertised with a five-year warranty and a standby charge life of more than three years. Retail listings from B&H Photo Video add that it can charge via USB-C and MagSafe at the same time, with the outputs sharing available power.
Orcutt’s review emphasised the practical value of that design. He said the power bank felt solid in the hand, fitted easily into a pocket and offered enough protection for wet or rough outdoor use. He also highlighted the leather carry loop, which makes the device easier to secure to a pack or carry by hand.
The charging performance is modest by design. Dark Energy says the battery can provide roughly 50% to 70% of a phone charge, which makes it more suitable for top-ups than for multi-day power needs. That matches the review, which described it as useful for keeping a smartphone, headlamp or GPS unit running through a day, rather than as a primary power source for extended trips.
Orcutt concluded that the Poseidon Nano is best understood as a durable everyday carry accessory for hikers, hunters and commuters who value reliability over capacity. He praised the lack of heat build-up during use and the automatic protection features, which are intended to prevent overheating and device damage. The main limitation is simple: at 3,000mAh, this is a compact backup battery, not a substitute for a larger pack.
