Edifier introduces the GX05 Master Edition, a smaller-format gaming earbud with 2.4GHz wireless, ANC, and a desktop-style charging dock, targeting gamers seeking headset features in a more portable form.
Edifier’s HECATE gaming arm is preparing a smaller-format option for players who prefer earbuds to over-ear headsets. XiaomiToday says the GX05 Master Edition is set to combine 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, Bluetooth support, active noise cancellation and a dedicated RGB charging dock, positioning it as a more desktop-friendly alternative for gaming setups. The company has not yet announced a price or release date.
The hardware specification centres on a 10mm titanium-plated driver with an N52 neodymium magnet, alongside a PEEK substrate and a flexible suspension edge. HECATE’s current GX05 product pages, however, describe the existing model as using Bluetooth 5.3 rather than Bluetooth 6.0, with LHDC 5.0 support, ultra-low-latency 2.4GHz mode and no mention of ANC. That suggests the Master Edition may be a refreshed variant, or that some of its published specifications are still provisional.
For gaming, the appeal is the low-latency 2.4GHz link and the bundled wireless dongle, which the company says is tuned for synchronised audio during play. HECATE also lists preset EQ profiles aimed at first-person shooters, which should reduce the need for manual sound tuning. The zinc-alloy dock doubles as the receiver and charging base, and adds USB expansion, making the package closer to a compact desktop accessory than a standard earbuds case.
HECATE says each earbud weighs about 5g, with an IPX4 rating and up to 12.5 hours of battery life, although runtime will depend on which wireless mode and features are in use. The company also claims dual microphones for call noise reduction and hybrid ANC rated to cut background sound by as much as 50dB. If the final price is aggressive, the GX05 Master Edition could appeal to gamers who want headset-style features in a far smaller form factor.
