The revised 3-in-1 charger adds faster iPhone charging, a slimmer aluminium body and a bundled 45W adapter, though its lightweight design can be less stable with larger Pro Max models.
KUXIU’s X40 Turbo is a compact revision of its foldable 3-in-1 charger, aimed at people who want a single accessory for an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods without giving up speed. According to review coverage from Macworld, MacSources, Cult of Mac and Macwelt, the new model keeps the travelling-friendly format that made the original X40 popular, while moving to Qi2.2 wireless charging and a more refined metal construction. KUXIU says the charger is 25% thinner than the previous version, and the product page lists 16 N52 magnets, a revised hinge and a bundled 45W power adapter.
The physical design is one of its main strengths. When folded, the X40 Turbo measures 64 x 64 x 18 mm and weighs 148 grams, making it easy to carry in a jacket pocket or travel bag. The company says the shell is machined aluminium, with soft-touch contact surfaces to hold devices securely. MacSources and Cult of Mac both noted the premium feel of the metal body, while the official product listing confirms that the charger ships with a braided USB-C cable and a hard-shell case.
In use, the charger unfolds into a three-tier stand: a magnetic pad for the iPhone, a middle section that supports Apple Watch charging and a base for AirPods or other Qi-compatible devices. KUXIU says the iPhone pad works in both portrait and landscape positions, including Apple’s StandBy mode. The company also says the Apple Watch charger is colour-matched to the body on the latest version, a small change that reviewers at Cult of Mac singled out as making the product look more coherent and less like a mix of separate parts.
The headline upgrade is Qi2.2 support at up to 25W for compatible iPhones. KUXIU says that means the charger can take supported models from zero to 80% in about 45 minutes, while Macworld and Macwelt both reported that an iPhone 16 or 17 series handset can reach 50% in just over 30 minutes. The company says older MagSafe-capable iPhones still charge at up to 15W, while the iPhone Air tops out at 20W. Apple Watch and AirPods charging remains at 5W, which is adequate for overnight use but not a substitute for the faster Apple Watch chargers bundled with some newer models.
Reviewers have been broadly positive about the way the X40 Turbo handles daily use, but they also point to the same compromise: its light weight makes it portable, yet less planted than a heavier desktop charger. MacSources said the hinge feels improved, with stronger magnets and a more secure opening angle, but noted some balance quirks. The iSpazio review reported similar observations, saying the stand can become less stable with larger iPhone Pro Max models when used at steeper angles. That is less of an issue in landscape mode, where the unit feels steadier.
Colour options are also part of the appeal. In addition to black, grey and wood grain finishes listed by KUXIU, the company has expanded the range with Cosmic Orange, a finish that 9to5Mac recently highlighted, and Burgundy, the version tested by iSpazio. The charger is sold through KUXIU’s store at $69.99 equivalent in Europe pricing on the reviewed page, with the retailer also bundling the 45W adapter, cable and travel case. For users who want one charger to cover a desk and a suitcase, the X40 Turbo looks like a well-executed update rather than a full redesign.
