Logitech’s $99.99 MX Keypad gives developers nine LCD shortcut keys for IDE commands, scripts, macros and AI prompts, with layouts that change between apps.
Logitech has launched the MX Keypad, a wired programmable console aimed at developers who want quicker access to code, scripts and workflow controls. The device is positioned as a desktop shortcut surface rather than a conventional input peripheral, with the company saying it is designed to reduce repetitive actions inside development tools and adjacent collaboration software.
The MX Keypad includes nine customisable LCD keys that can be assigned to IDE commands, macros, scripts and AI prompts. According to Logitech, the console supports app-aware profile switching, which automatically changes the key layout when a user moves between applications such as VS Code, IntelliJ and Slack. That approach is intended to keep the most relevant controls visible without requiring manual reconfiguration.
Logitech is also leaning on software integration to make the product more useful inside coding environments. Native plugins are available for select developer tools, including GitHub Copilot, while the company says users can personalise key icons and build custom toggles through drag-and-drop configuration. Ready-made plugins can be downloaded through the Logi Marketplace, and more advanced users can build their own through the Logi Actions SDK.
The console connects over USB-C and works with Windows and macOS. Logitech’s US product page lists the MX Keypad at $99.99, while the company’s Canadian page shows a price of C$139.99 and identifies Graphite as the available colour in that market. Logitech’s announcement also says the device comes in Graphite and Pale Grey, suggesting availability may vary by region. The launch follows a broader run of Logitech hardware aimed at workflow personalisation, including recent updates across its mouse and keyboard lines that have emphasised custom controls and deeper software integration.
