Logitech introduces the MX Keypad, a compact and customisable device featuring nine full-colour LCD keys designed to optimise AI and coding workflows for developers, supporting native integrations with major development tools and sustainability efforts.
Logitech has introduced the MX Keypad, a compact $99.99 accessory aimed at developers who increasingly work across coding tools and AI services. The company says the device is designed to reduce context switching by putting common commands, scripts, macros and prompt actions on nine programmable full-colour LCD keys. It is available in Graphite and Pale Grey in select markets.
According to Logitech, the keypad was developed with GitHub and is intended to act as a physical control centre for software development workflows. It supports native integrations with GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ IDEA, while also allowing community-built plugins for tools such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. Logitech says users can map a key to one action or to a sequence of actions across multiple apps.
The MX Keypad connects over USB-C and requires macOS 13 or later, or Windows 10 or later. Logitech says it is also small enough to sit alongside a keyboard without taking up much desk space, weighing 96 grams and measuring about the width of one of its mice. The company is positioning it as a simpler, lower-cost alternative to its $199.99 MX Creative Console, which combines an LCD keypad with a separate dialpad.
Sustainability remains part of the pitch. Logitech says the MX Keypad uses certified post-consumer recycled plastic, with 64% recycled content in the Graphite version and 49% in the Pale Grey model. Anatoliy Polyanker, Logitech’s vice-president and general manager, said developers now depend on moving between an expanding set of AI tools and that the device offers a way to orchestrate those workflows more quickly and with less friction.
