Apple India’s profit surges 66% as revenue crosses ₹1 lakh crore

Apple India’s net profit rose to ₹5,311 crore in FY26 as revenue climbed 31.4%, highlighting the accelerating scale and improving margins of its business in the country.

Apple India has reported a sharp rise in earnings for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2026, underscoring how the company’s local retail and distribution business has moved to a larger scale in one of its most important growth markets. According to the company’s filed results, net profit climbed 66% year on year to ₹5,311 crore, while operating revenue rose 31.4% to ₹1.04 lakh crore, taking total income to about ₹1.05 lakh crore. The figures suggest that Apple’s profit growth outpaced revenue expansion over the year, helped by stronger demand for its core devices and a better margin profile.

The revenue mix remained heavily driven by hardware sales. Apple India’s income from traded goods rose to ₹99,068 crore, up nearly a third from the previous year, while support services, including Apple Care, increased 7.6% to ₹4,292.8 crore. Finance income added ₹463 crore and other income contributed ₹291 crore. Business media reports also pointed to a wider shift in India’s premium handset market, where higher-priced devices have continued to gain ground, supporting Apple’s position in the segment.

Costs rose as well, but at a slower pace than sales. Apple India’s total expenses increased 28% to ₹96,224 crore, with purchases of traded goods remaining the largest outlay at ₹78,228.7 crore. The company also spent ₹10,373.7 crore on licence fees, more than double the prior year’s figure, while employee benefit costs rose 13% to ₹3,531.3 crore and marketing and advertising expenses climbed 22.6% to ₹1,075.2 crore. The result was an improvement in net profit margin to 5.1% from 4% in FY25.

Apple’s India business has been expanding beyond the iPhone, with MacBooks, iPads, wearables and services becoming more important to the local revenue base. The company has also become a major part of Apple’s global manufacturing footprint, with iPhone exports from India crossing ₹2 lakh crore in FY26, according to the company’s own disclosures cited in industry reports. At the same time, Apple has begun widening its financial services presence in the country through Apple Pay, launched with Axis Bank, even as it has warned that semiconductor and memory shortages could constrain supply of iPhones, Macs and iPads in the months ahead.
