Huawei has launched the MatePad 11.5 and MatePad SE 11 in India, targeting both premium and budget segments, signalling a strategic push into the competitive tablet market after months of teaser previews.
Huawei has brought two new tablets to India, the MatePad 11.5 and MatePad SE 11, listing both on Flipkart after months of preview pages and teaser material. The launch marks a renewed push into the Indian tablet market, with the company positioning the two models at different price points and use cases. According to the Flipkart-linked material, the higher-end MatePad 11.5 is aimed at users who want a better display and more storage, while the MatePad SE 11 is pitched as a lower-cost option.
The MatePad 11.5 is the more capable of the pair. Huawei says it has an 11.5-inch TFT LCD panel with a PaperMatte finish, 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, housed in a metal body that is 6.1mm thick and weighs 515 grams. The tablet runs on the Kirin T82B chip with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and includes a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, a 10,100mAh battery and HarmonyOS 4.3. Huawei has priced it at ₹45,999 for the 8GB plus 256GB variant.
The MatePad SE 11 is the more affordable model and keeps the specification sheet simpler. Huawei’s listing shows an 11-inch TFT LCD display with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and 400 nits of peak brightness, a Kirin 710A processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, a 7,700mAh battery and 22.5W charging. Huawei’s own consumer specifications for the broader MatePad SE 11 family also point to the same screen size, battery capacity and camera setup, although they list additional memory and storage options for other markets.
Both tablets had previously surfaced on e-commerce pages in March, but the new listing indicates they are now available for purchase. That sequence suggests Huawei has been carefully staging its return, first by teasing the devices and then by confirming specifications and pricing once the launch window was ready. For buyers, the key distinction is straightforward: the MatePad 11.5 is the stronger media and productivity option, while the MatePad SE 11 is the budget model for basic everyday use.
