Huawei is preparing for a busy autumn product cycle, with reports pointing to a launch event on 23 September that could bring the Mate 90 family, new MatePad tablets and at least two still-unnamed phones. According to multiple Chinese technology leakers cited by 25h and Huawei Central, the company is also expected to use the event to broaden its hardware line-up beyond handsets, including a desktop computer running HarmonyOS.
The most closely watched detail is the suggestion that Huawei will unveil two devices known internally as “Laputa” and “V+”. Their commercial names have not been confirmed, but the speculation around them is already sharpening. One possibility is that one device could be a non-foldable Pura model, while the other may represent a new slim-line addition to Huawei’s Air series. For now, those remain educated guesses rather than confirmed product plans.
The Mate 90 range itself appears to be moving towards a broader launch window than in recent years. Huawei has said the series will arrive this autumn and will run the stable version of HarmonyOS 7, while separate reports say the family may include four variants: standard, Pro, Pro Max and RS Ultimate. Huawei Central also reported that the company has begun teasing the line-up in stages, with the first promotional material expected in early September and the launch likely to follow in mid-to-late September.
There are also signs that Huawei is trying to reset the rhythm of its flagship launches. Antara reported that the Mate 90 series is being scheduled for September, rather than the later November timing used for some previous Mate releases, in a move that would bring the company closer to the traditional autumn window used by rival premium phone makers. Huawei has also linked the new Kirin chipset due in the same period with its LogicFolding architecture, indicating that the Mate 90 range may be used to showcase the firm’s latest in-house silicon as well as its software stack.
