Motorola’s Moto G Max aims to redefine durability with three-day battery life in India

Motorola announces the launch of the rugged Moto G Max in India on August 14, featuring a massive 7,000mAh battery, MIL-STD-810H certification, and a focus on durability, appealing to consumers seeking long-lasting, resilient smartphones.

Motorola will bring the Moto G Max to India on August 14 at 12 pm IST, with sales expected through Flipkart, Motorola’s own website and offline stores. Gizbot says the phone is likely to be priced between Rs 24,000 and Rs 30,000, positioning it in the upper mid-range segment. It will be offered in three Pantone-curated finishes: Stargazer, Malaga and Alaskan Blue.

The main selling point is endurance. Motorola says the handset uses a 7,000mAh battery that can last up to three days in standard use, a claim that would make it unusual even in a market crowded with large-battery phones. The company is also leaning on durability, with MIL-STD-810H certification and resistance ratings meant to help it cope with dust and liquid exposure.

On paper, the Moto G Max combines that rugged pitch with mainstream hardware. Gizbot reports a 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, plus a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also carries a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 main camera and stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos.

Motorola is shipping the device with Android 16 and promising two major operating system upgrades and three years of security patches. That update policy is broadly in line with the company’s recent push to keep its Moto G range competitive on software support, while Smart Connect is meant to help the phone work more smoothly with PCs and tablets. The India variant appears to be a different configuration from versions reported in other markets, where coverage has described AMOLED displays, MediaTek processors and larger camera systems, underscoring that Motorola is tailoring the model by region.
