Leaked details suggest the OnePlus 16 will feature a 9,000mAh battery, a 200-megapixel main camera, and a high-refresh OLED screen, signalling a major leap in flagship innovation for 2026.
OnePlus is preparing a new flagship phone, the OnePlus 16, with an autumn 2026 launch expected and a clear focus on speed, battery life and camera hardware, according to reports citing multiple leaks. The strongest claims point to Qualcomm’s next premium chip, a high-refresh OLED screen and a much larger battery than is typical in the class.
The most detailed early leaks suggest the handset will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor, with some reports linking it to a 2nm design and clock speeds approaching 5GHz. That would be paired with LPDDR6 memory, with 12GB and 16GB variants said to be under consideration, and UFS 4.1 storage. No microSD expansion is expected.
Display changes may be just as significant. The phone is tipped to use a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel made by BOE, with around 1.5K resolution, LTPO support and an unusually high 185Hz refresh rate. Reports also say the bezels could be under 1mm and matched on all four sides, giving the device a more symmetrical front design.
Battery capacity is another area where the OnePlus 16 could stand out. Leaks point to a silicon-carbon cell of about 9,000mAh, with 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. On the rear, the camera system is said to centre on a 200-megapixel main sensor, joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The phone is also expected to ship with Android 17, ColorOS, stereo speakers and IP68 and IP69 protection.
There is still uncertainty over the wider launch line-up. Some reports suggest OnePlus may skip a separate Pro model in 2026 and instead sell one main flagship with memory and storage as the only meaningful configuration differences. Other leaks, however, have pointed to the possibility of a Pro or Ultra variant. One report also says the company may not officially sell the phone in the US or Europe, with India expected to get an international version instead.
