Oppo hikes Indian smartphone prices amid rising component costs

Oppo has increased prices across its A and Reno smartphone ranges in India, citing rising memory and logistics costs, impacting multiple models from entry-level to high-end variants.

OPPO has raised the Indian prices of several smartphones across its A and Reno ranges, with increases now visible on the company’s local website. The revisions affect a mix of 5G and 4G models, and the higher tags appear to apply to different storage variants rather than a single handset. Industry reports say the move is linked to rising memory costs, especially DRAM, alongside higher component and logistics expenses.

Among the steepest changes is the Reno 16c, which according to TelecomTalk now costs up to Rs 4,000 more than before. The 8GB and 128GB version has moved from Rs 49,999 to Rs 52,999, while the 8GB and 256GB model is now Rs 57,999, up from Rs 53,999. The 12GB and 256GB variant has also risen, from Rs 59,999 to Rs 62,999. Beebom and other outlets report that the broader Reno line has been affected by the same pricing pressure.

OPPO’s A-series has not been spared. TelecomTalk said the A6 5G base model has gone from Rs 28,999 to Rs 29,999, while 91mobiles reported that the A6c and A6 Pro have also seen revised prices. Its report said the A6 Pro now starts at Rs 32,999, compared with a launch price of Rs 21,999, illustrating how sharply some variants have moved since release. 91mobiles also noted that the K14x and K14 have been caught up in the same round of adjustments.

The exact scale of the increases varies by model and configuration, but the pattern is consistent: OPPO is passing through a cost rise that is affecting much of the handset industry. Tech Sportskeeda said some devices are now up by as much as Rs 5,000, while Smartprix reported that certain models have been revised multiple times since launch. For buyers, the immediate effect is straightforward: the same hardware now costs more, and the cheapest entry point in several OPPO line-ups has shifted upwards.
