Redmi prepares to launch the K100 Pro Max in China, boasting a colossal 9,070mAh battery, a high-refresh-rate OLED display, and top-tier Snapdragon chip, signalling a push into flagship territory for gaming and heavy usage.
Redmi is preparing to unveil the K100 Pro Max in China on August 11, joining the K100 Pro in a launch that appears aimed squarely at high-end gaming phones and heavy users. The teasers released so far suggest Xiaomi’s sub-brand is pushing battery endurance, display speed and charging flexibility harder than before, while also leaning on the latest Qualcomm flagship chip. The move follows the wider Xiaomi 17 family rollout and continues Redmi’s recent focus on aggressive specifications.
The most striking change is the battery. Redmi says the K100 Pro Max carries a 9,070mAh cell, a sizeable jump from the 7,560mAh pack in the K90 Pro Max. The company has claimed roughly 40% better battery life, although that figure is based on its own testing and has not yet been independently verified. Charging is equally ambitious: the phone supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, plus 27W wired reverse charging and 22.5W wireless reverse charging for accessories or other devices.
Up front, Redmi has chosen a 6.9-inch flat RGB OLED panel with a 185Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The company says the display uses a full RGB lossless pixel structure and M11 luminescent material, which it claims improves power efficiency by about 20% compared with standard 1.5K panels. If those claims hold up in practice, the screen should combine unusually smooth motion with stronger brightness and lower power draw than many rival flagship panels.
The camera system follows a three-lens layout led by a 200-megapixel main sensor, joined by a 5x periscope telephoto lens and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Inside, Xiaomi’s product manager Xinxin Mia said on Weibo that the phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the same 3nm flagship chip found in the Xiaomi 17 series. Redmi is also pairing it with a dedicated D2 graphics processor to improve gaming performance, alongside a flat metal frame and Bose-tuned speakers. New colour options include Gold White and Cabernet Red, with full pricing and storage configurations due at the launch event.
