Sony appears to be laying groundwork for its next flagship smartphone, with fresh IMEI database entries pointing to a future Xperia 1 series device expected in 2027. The listings were first identified by the Japanese publication S-Max and show three model numbers, XQ-HH44, XQ-HH54 and XQ-HH74, alongside internal codes PM-1545-BV, PM-1540-BV and PM-1541-BV.
The model pattern matters because Sony has long used letter codes to distinguish generations, and the “H” designation is being read as an indication of a 2027 handset family. The Japanese variant, XQ-HH44, is listed as eSIM-only, while XQ-HH54 is linked to Europe and XQ-HH74 appears to be intended for broader international markets, including China. Some reports also suggest the Japanese model carries 3GPP satellite communications support, although that does not yet reveal how Sony would use the feature in practice.
The appearance of these entries has come earlier than previous sightings in Sony’s recent cycle.
