vivo V80 takes its Zeiss camera and 7,200mAh battery global

vivo is expanding the V80 beyond India into Southeast Asia, the Middle East and selected markets, bringing Zeiss-branded cameras, a 7,200mAh battery and long-term software support.

vivo has widened the V80’s reach beyond India, with the company now saying the handset will also be sold in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and selected other markets. According to vivo’s announcement, pricing, specifications and launch timing will differ by country, reflecting local market conditions and consumer demand. The phone will be offered internationally in Starwish Purple, Wander Green, Sunrise Anthem and Vast Gray.

The V80 is positioned as a camera-first upper-mid-range device. GSMArena reports that it carries a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1260×2750 resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness rating of 5,000 nits. Around the back, the handset combines a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP periscope telephoto module with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, it uses a 50MP selfie camera.

Photography remains a central part of the pitch. Digital Camera World says vivo has paired the V80 with Zeiss camera branding and a set of AI-assisted editing tools, including features for post-capture lighting changes, face correction, object removal and image expansion. The publication also says both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording at up to 60 frames per second. Gizmochina adds that vivo is using Sony’s LYTIA 700V sensor for the primary camera and that the handset includes ZEISS portrait modes.

Battery life is another headline feature. The V80 packs a 7,200mAh battery with 90W wired charging, according to multiple reports, making it one of the larger batteries in its class. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and is being offered with 8GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage. GSMArena says the 128GB model uses UFS 3.1 storage, while the higher-capacity versions move to UFS 4.1.

On the software side, the phone runs Android 17 with vivo’s OriginOS 7 layered on top. vivo is promising four major Android version upgrades and six years of security patches, a commitment that puts the device among the more generously supported Android handsets in its segment. Gizmochina also reports that the V80 measures 7.69mm thick and that vivo is marketing it as the largest battery it has ever fitted to a V-series phone. European and UK availability has not yet been confirmed, according to Digital Camera World.
